Filming is now underway in Portland on the thriller, which is based on the 2021 novel The Night Always Comes by Willy Vlautin.

Vanessa, who portrayed Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of The Crown, will reunite with co-star Benjamin Caron for the film.

It follows Lynette, a woman who risks everything to secure a future for herself and her brother by setting out on a dangerous odyssey in Portland, in doing so confronting her own dark past over one propulsive night.

When her mother reneges on a promise to help, Lynette embarks on a desperate two-day search for the money. This odyssey brings her face-to-face with the city's winners and losers, escalating her desperation.

The Night Always Comes is yet to confirm a release date.

It comes after it was revealed Vanessa will join the cast of Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated superhero film, Fantastic Four.

The project is expected to begin filming this summer in England ahead of its planned release date of July 25, 2025, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Vanessa will star as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman.

The cast also includes Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richards' pal Ben Grimm/The Thing.

The Fantastic Four, which will be directed by Matt Shakman, 'centers around Marvel's First Family.'
